The best time to view Karlu Karlu is either during sunrise or sunset when the colours of the boulders appear to change in colour so lay out a picnic blanket to take in the sights and don’t forget your camera.

Alice Springs & Surrounds

Alice Springs is a buzzing, thriving town in Central Australia, famous for the personality of its locals, as well as the contemporary and traditional art scene. This town is surrounded by natural wonders including the famous Larapinta Trail and the MacDonnell Ranges, which stretch out for hundreds of kilometres either side of Alice Springs. The West MacDonnell Ranges are an adventures playground with hiking trails, four-wheel drive tracks, swimming holes and camping spots.

  • Take a day trip to Rainbow Valley located only 1.5 hours from Alice Springs. The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when the rainbow-like rock bands are highlighted.

  • Take a swim in the natural waterholes of the West Macs including Ellery Creek Big Hole, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Gorge

Uluru & Surrounds

Uluru is known as the spiritual heart of Australia, this icon is a must see for any traveller to the Northern Territory. Explore Uluru by foot, bicycle or jump on the back of camel at either sunrise or sunset, to see the colour of the rock appear to change in colour; it’s truly an unforgettable sight. Whilst in the area be sure to marvel at the ancient red rocks of Kata Tjuta and visit the magnificent Kings Canyon.
